The primary use for these training mannequins is for the ongoing improvement of intubation procedures. This is one of the most critical life-saving skill sets a paramedic possesses.
As technology advances, the caliber of the mannequins has greatly improved the skill of endotracheal intubation, offering a higher percentage of success in actual field applications. The most common use of this skill is during cardiac arrest, so the benefit to the patient and community can be measured in lives saved. These adult training mannequins are capable of imitating cardiac dysrhythmias commonly seen in cardiac arrest, allowing providers to practice the Advanced Cardiac Life Support algorithms necessary during such an event.
